PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) Sher Afzal Marwat on Wednesday said that there were groupings within the party at the central level.
Talking to Geo News, Marwat revealed that certain groups within PTI engaged only in criticising the central leadership via social media, rather than contributing constructively to the party. He noted that such activities from within were causing frustration among supporters.
Referring to the recent comments by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Marwat said that these groups remained inactive on the ground and limited their role to criticising the party leadership on social media.
He clarified that he was unable to deliver a speech at the recent rally in Swabi, adding that he was delayed by Punjab Police. He dismissed rumors that his absence from the stage was due to internal issues.
Marwat also commented on the appointment of a new superintendent at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, claiming that the new officer was appointed in an attempt to harass Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founding chairman Imran Khan.
