Sindh Transport & Mass Transit Minister Sharjeel Memon on Wednesday ordered expediting the construction work of the Red Line and Yellow Line bus rapid transit (BRT) projects.
The progress of the two projects was reviewed during a meeting of the transport & mass transit department chaired by Memon, who pointed out that these modern BRT projects would bring significant relief to Karachi’s residents.
He said that there can be no compromise on the quality of work. The purpose of the provincial government is to provide the public with cheap but modern means of travel as soon as possible, he added.
He stressed that efforts should be made to complete both the BRT projects ahead of schedule to benefit the public, as the completion of these projects would make travel easier for the residents, benefiting millions. He noted that all the parties are actively working to ensure the projects’ timely and successful completion. He emphasised that these projects are a top priority for the government, and that their timely completion would bring considerable relief to millions of people.
