I am writing to express my deep concern about the escalating street crimes in the Sohrab Goth area of Karachi, a critical gateway connecting the city to the highway. This bustling area, frequented by a large population daily, has become a hotspot for snatching and theft. Residents live in fear as criminals, often on motorcycles, snatch valuables, phones, and wallets. Victims are left shaken and traumatised.
Despite repeated complaints, the authorities seem indifferent. The alarming absence of effective policing has emboldened criminals and the police presence is scarce. This lack of accountability has created a culture of fear, leaving citizens feeling helpless and vulnerable. As a concerned citizen, I urge the relevant authorities to take immediate action, by installing CCTV cameras and providing a larger police presence in the area.
