QUETTA: The truck transport strike continued for a second day in the mining regions of Duki, Harnai, Chamalang, and Shahrag, disrupting coal loading from these areas.

The strike has resulted in no coal loading from these four regions for the second consecutive day. The Duki Truck Transport Union held a meeting chaired by District President Raza Muhammad Nasir, who later informed the media that their trucks had been set on fire in Duki, Chamalang, Rarra Sham, and Harnai, yet the government has not provided any compensation. Due to this negligence, they have halted coal loading indefinitely.

Nasir further stated that, as part of their demands, they plan to completely block routes N-70 and N-50 and stage a wheel-jam strike on November 14.

If compensation is still not provided, they will escalate the strike by suspending all loading activities across Balochistan starting November 16. He highlighted that their trucks and drivers are unsafe, facing attacks by armed assailants on national highways in broad daylight who set the trucks ablaze before fleeing.
