LDA seals properties of fee defaulters

LAHORE: Continuing its operation against illegal constructions, commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters, the LDA authorities sealed and demolished many properties on Tuesday.

The LDA teams conducted operations in Johar Town, Gulbarg, New Garden Town, Allama Iqbal Town, Shadbagh, New Muslim Town, Canal Road and Shadbagh and adjoining areas and sealed private schools, cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, clinics, salons, beauty parlors, chicken shops, service stations, estate offices, tire shops and other properties. Several notices were issued to the owners of the properties before the operation.

Meanwhile, DG LDA Tahir Farooq visited LDA Avenue One Scheme and expressed displeasure over poor security and sanitation arrangements in the scheme. He also directed to start an immediate and indiscriminate action against illegal commercial activities in LDA Avenue One. He also directed to carry out a special operation to eliminate encroachments and livestock. Complaints of citizens related to LDA Avenue One should be resolved immediately in open court, he maintained. The DG said the cleanliness and security situation should be improved in Avenue One and Jubilee Town. He also ordered the construction of boundary walls and barriers for controlled entry.

Following the directives of the DG LDA, the LDA teams carried out an anti-encroachment operation in LDA City and recovered over 15 kanal land from illegal possession and demolished five structures that were obstructing the construction of Chenab Road. The LDA teams also removed encroachments obstructing the construction of LDA City Chenab Road.
