Our village, Qiyas Khan Bhayo in District Kashmore, lies in the heart of a lawless stretch ruled by dacoits. The police, who should be our protectors, stand like spectators on the sidelines. They see, they hear, but they do not act. Other law-enforcement agencies came once with the promise of justice. But justice, like rain, does not fall equally on all.
Their operation sputtered and failed. We appeal to those who sit in rooms far away to do what must be done to bring peace to this village. We have waited too long. We have endured too much. And now, we have nothing left but this plea.
