QUETTA: Unidentified armed men gunned down National Party (NP) in Jalal Khan Road area of Bhag in Kachi District of Balochistan on Monday. Unidentified armed individuals opened fire o n M o h a m m a d A k b a r Baloch, former NP General Secretary in Kachi District, resulting in his death. Baloch was serving as the Assistant District Education Officer in Bhag at the time of the incident. Following the attack, Levies forces took possession of the body and shifted it to the hospital. After completing the necessary procedures, the body was handed over to Baloch’s family. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. In a statement, the NP’s provincial spokesperson expressed deep sorrow over the tragic assassination of Akbar Baloch, a dedicated and i d e o l o g i c a l l y c o m m i t -ted leader. The party described his loss as a significant setback for political activists across Balochistan. K n o w n a s a “ t r u e soldier” of the national struggle, Akbar Baloch was unwavering in his b e l i e f s , a d v o c a t i n g for peace and security despite the challenges of a tribal society. The NP paid tribute to his lifelong political dedication and offered condolences to his family. The party emphasized that it has lost a committed and principled leader whose political journey spanned decades.
