ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Abdul Qadir Patel Monday termed the briefing given by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi on law and order situation in the federal capital unsatisfactory.
“Bitterness was shown by the IGP for raising questions by the members. It is a responsibility of the government authorities to give satisfactory answers,” he said while talking to the media after attending a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior.
Patel, who attended the committee meeting as a member, said he had asked the IGP about the conviction rate, but he gave a surprising reply that only courts knew about it. He said that sharing of details of registration of cases and round-ups by the Islamabad police was not enough, they should also tell about the conviction rate. They should also tell why the accused get bails and come out of jails.
