10 terrorists killed in three North Waziristan engagements

RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed 10 Khwarij in three separate engagements in North Waziristan.
On Saturday, security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District, on the reported presence of Khwarij. During the conduct of the operation, troops effectively engaged Khwarij’s location, as a result of which six Khwarij were sent to hell, while six Khwarij got injured.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.

On Sunday, four Khwarij were killed in two separate engagements in North Waziristan District. An IBO was conducted by the security forces in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District. During the conduct of operation, troops effectively engaged Khwarij’s location and after intense fire exchange, two Khwarij were sent to hell.
In another incident, movement of a group of Khwarij, who were trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District. Troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate. Two Khwarij were sent to hell, while two Khwarij got injured.
Security forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its borders and eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday lauded the security forces for conducting an intelligence-based operation against Khwarij in North Waziristan.
The president commended the bravery of security forces for killing six Khwarij and injuring six others in the successful operation, the President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
While appreciating the professionalism of security forces, Zardari reiterated the national resolve to complete the elimination of terrorism. Pakistan’s brave security forces would continue operations to eliminate terrorist elements, he further added.
The prime minister praised the officers and personnel of security forces for their successful operation against Fitna-al-Khwarij in Spinwam, North Waziristan. He also appreciated the professionalism of security forces. “We will continue to fight against the specter of terrorism till its complete eradication from the country,” the PM Office Media Wing, in a press release, quoted the prime minister as saying.
Shehbaz said the entire nation stood shoulder to shoulder with its security forces for the complete elimination of terrorism and those elements who spread anarchy in the country.
