A young child was tragically killed after being hit by a stray bullet in Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth within the limits of the Sachal police station on Sunday. Meanwhile, four people were injured in separate firing incidents in the Quaidabad, Saeedabad, Baghdadi and Landhi areas.

According to police, eight-year-old Abdullah, son of Nisar Ali, was playing in a courtyard when something hit his head, causing severe bleeding. The family rushed him to a private hospital nearby but he had passed away by then. Police said the CT scan revealed that the boy had been struck by a bullet. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities before it was handed over to the family. Further investigations are under way.

Separately, a 17-year-old teenager, Sawan, son of Salar Khan, was injured within the limits of the Quaidabad police station near Sherpao Colony after he was shot by unidentified assailants. He was rushed to the JPMC.

Police said they had initiated investigations and the teenager was shot over personal enmity. In Saeedabad’s Mawach Goth area, a 22-year-old man, Muhammad Shahmir, was injured in an exchange of gunfire during a dispute near Suparco Cut. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital.

In the Baghdadi area of Lyari, a 35-year-old man, Pir Bakhsh, was injured by a stray bullet. He was moved to the Civil Hospital. In Landhi, a man, Abdul Wahab, 53, was injured by a stray bullet and shifted to the JPMC.
