Our worst enemy

This refers to the letter ‘Critiques from abroad’ (October 29, 2024) by Sameen Shakeel. In it, the writer implies that foreign entities have no legitimate authority to dictate how our domestic matters should be managed. However, in most cases, Pakistan remains firm on its decisions and the foreign ministry comes forward to respond to any foreign critique.
The example of IMF is misplaced as the lending agency did not take any notice of the request made by the PTI to delay the loans. We are fully capable of muffling press freedom, reinvigorating injustice and domestic violence, and creating inequality without the help of any foreign interference
