LAHORE: “Science and technology is a source of development and the foundation of a peaceful and prosperous society.
The secret of development lies in science and technology,” said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in her message on the International Week of Science and Peace.
She said: “The Nawaz Sharif IT City will be a land of opportunities for youths. International IT institutions and campuses will be established in this city. Modern IT training is being given to the youth in line with the requirements of international job market. International certification is also being provided to make the professional potential of freelancers more useful. Be it education, health or agriculture, the Punjab government is bringing IT-based reforms in every sector.
We are following the commitment to make every sector digital in five years.” Iqbal Day: “I will be the servant of one who loves the servants of God,” she said in her message on the Iqbal Day. The intellectual services of the Poet of the East for the establishment of Pakistan can never be forgotten. His message for the new generation is that of self-awareness. It is very important to enlighten the young generation with Iqbal’s thoughts.”
She said: “‘Shikwa’ and ‘Jawab-e-Shikwa’ are timeless creations of Allama Iqbal. His poetry both in Urdu and Persian is a great addition to the literature. Kalam-e-Iqbal needs to be made part of the educational curriculum.
On the Iqbal Day, we pledge to adopt his thoughts to elevate Pakistan. Allama Iqbal gave a message to the Muslims of the Subcontinent and raised awareness on two nations. His thoughtful poetry transformed the Muslims of the Subcontinent into a dynamic and awakened nation.” “We are trying to lead the peasants of Punjab on the path to independence according to the thoughts and ideas of the Poet of the East. My favourite poetic verses include ‘May my work be supporting the poor, loving the sick and the weak’. ‘May God save me from evil... be a good guide on the true path’ is my prayer for children,” she said.
