Industrial Area Police’s crack down on criminals

Islamabad:The Industrial Area Zone police have reported significant progress in its ongoing operations against criminal elements over the past ten months. In a series of targeted actions, police arrested 2,000 suspects and recovered stolen goods valued at over 69 million rupees, according to officials.

As part of these efforts, the police successfully retrieved 176 stolen vehicles and motorcycles. Authorities also arrested 340 suspects associated with 106 gangs involved in serious crimes, including robbery and burglary, SP (Industrial Area Zone), Ali Raza said. Efforts to combat drug trafficking have led to the arrest of 300 drug dealers, with substantial seizures that include 100 kilograms of hashish, over 50 kilograms of heroin, more than 5 kilograms of ice (methamphetamine), 1 kilogram of opium, 3,000 litres of liquor, and various other intoxicants, he added.

Additionally, the police intensified actions against the possession of illegal weapons, arresting 400 individuals. Officers confiscated over 100 rifles, 300 pistols, and 1,500 live rounds from these individuals, the SP maintained. SP Industrial Area Zone praised the commitment of police personnel and emphasized the department’s ongoing mission to reduce crime in Islamabad, highlighting that these efforts are crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the capital’s residents.
