LAHORE: Sarwar Road Police have arrested three police clerks accused of issuing fake No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for music shows, forging signatures of senior police officers.
The accused, identified as Head Clerk Jamshed Ali from the Security Branch, Arshad Ali, Head Clerk at the SP Cantt office, and Naib Clerk Fahad Ali, were taken into custody following an internal investigation.
According to details from the FIR, registered on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Irfan, Jamshed Ali allegedly forged the signature of the SP Security on a fake NOC to allow an event to take place. Meanwhile, Arshad Ali and Fahad Ali reportedly replicated the SP Cantt’s signature on similar documents, unlawfully authorising events without official approval.
Man shot dead over financial issue
A 32-year-old man was shot dead in the Dharmapura Gulistan Colony area of Mustafa Abad over a financial dispute related to gambling winnings. The suspects managed to flee the scene following the shooting, prompting a police investigation and search operation.
Murder mystery resolved
In a shocking turn of events, investigation police have solved the murder case of a man whose body was discovered in the fields of Bata Pur. Police have arrested the victim’s wife and her alleged lover, who reportedly confessed to the crime, and recovered the murder weapon. The deceased, identified as Sabir, a resident of Bata Pur, was found brutally murdered several days ago.
Warden suspended
A traffic police assistant has been suspended following allegations of misconduct with a female driver in Lahore's Garhi Shahu area. The incident has prompted an official inquiry ordered by senior traffic police authorities.
According to reports, the incident began when Traffic Assistant Naveed stopped a female driver for a seatbelt violation and requested her vehicle documents. The woman alleged that the officer became confrontational, using a harsh tone and engaging in disrespectful behaviour during their exchange over the traffic violation.
Four robbers held
The investigation police in Islampura have arrested four wanted suspects involved in a high-profile robbery case. The suspects, identified as gang leader Asif and his accomplices Atif, Shafiq, and Zeeshan, were taken into custody. During the operation, police seized Rs. 700,000 in cash and illegal firearms from the suspects. The gang is accused of robbing a citizen, Ijaz-ul-Hassan, of Rs. 2.3 million at gunpoint after he withdrew the money from a bank.
Bike thieves held
Johar Town police have arrested two active members of a motorcycle theft gang involved in multiple theft incidents across Lahore. The suspects, identified as Jamal Hussain and Muhammad Bilal, were reportedly responsible for a series of motorcycle thefts in Johar Town, Township, and other areas.
During the arrest, police recovered five stolen motorcycles, master keys, spare parts, and engines from the suspects' possession. According to police sources, the gang would steal motorcycles from various locations, divide the stolen goods among themselves, and dismantle parts for resale.
