DC, DPO check security of power plant project area

JHANG: Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar and District Police Officer Bilal Iftikhar visited the Haveli Bahadur Shah power plant on Thursday to inspect the security of foreign engineers and supporting staff.

They also examined the entry-exit points, directing that no one would be allowed to enter without identification and screening. DPO Bilal Iftikhar stated that a heavy contingent of police, along with personnel from the Elite Force and Special Protection Unit, had already been deployed inside the project area to ensure the safety of the staff.

He also instructed the SDPO and SHO of the circle to maintain vigilant oversight of the areas adjacent to the plant site by increasing patrols, including cops in plain clothes.DC Ali Akbar instructed the plant management to inform local police before engineers leave the power plant due to heightened security concerns for foreigners

PRIVATE SCHOOLS ORDERED TO REMAIN CLOSED: District Education Authority Tanveer Ali warned private school owners to keep their institutions, including tutoring centers, closed until November 17.

He announced that strict action would be taken against violators of the Punjab School Education Department’s directives on closing public and private schools. CEO Education Tanveer Ali also instructed DEOs to improve coordination with school heads for online teaching during the smog emergency.
