Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss a comprehensive beautification plan for key roads in the city.
According to a statement issued by the Commissioner Office, in the first phase, beautification efforts would focus on Sharea Faisal, Shahrah-e-Quaideen and Marine Promenade and a survey had been completed to identify specific beautification tasks and locations.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Karachi Development Authority (KDA) would lead the project while other agencies, including the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, cantonment boards and towns administration, would collaborate.
The beautification work is targeted for completion within 15 days. KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Afzal Zaidi, Additional Commissioner Karachi Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, KDA director general and deputy commissioners of various districts, including South, Korangi and Malir, participated in the meeting. Representatives from K-Electric and relevant municipal departments also attended.
Assistant Commissioners Hazim Bangwar and Rabia Syed presented the survey details through charts and photographs, highlighting areas for sidewalk repair, cleaning, parking improvements and enhanced traffic management.
