Police on Thursday registered a case against unknown individuals in connection with the killing of a former army commando in the Clifton area.

An FIR No 383/24 under Sections 394, 302/34 was lodged at the Clifton police station on the complaint of Daniyal, the son of Adil Khan. According to the police, the case had been registered on charges of murder and robbery, based on a report filed by Daniyal, who was the administrator of the security company where the deceased, Saeed, was employed.

The complainant stated that Saeed was performing his duties as a security guard for the company. On Wednesday, Daniyal and Saeed went to a bank in Defence Phase V to withdraw the company’s funds. They withdrew PKR 508,000, which they placed in a bag.

The complainant further stated that while they were still near the bank, Saeed stepped off the bike to buy a cigarette. At that moment, three assailants on two motorcycles attempted to snatch the bag of cash. Saeed resisted, and the robbers opened fire on him.

The attackers fled without taking the money. Saeed was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
