Consultation on forming info literacy
LAHORE:Punjab University's Digital Media, School of Communication Studies Department organised the inaugural consultation session for formulating Media and Information Literacy strategy in the country.
According to a press release, these consutations are being launched by UNESCO, together with Media Foundation 360, for fostering a knowledge-based society in the country. In the consultation, participants proposed recommendations about how best to promote media and information literacy in the country. UNESCO's Media and Information Literacy framework equipped citizens to critically evaluate information and responsibly engage with content especially online in a world marked by disinformation, and harmful content.
It also aligned closely with Pakistan's national priorities, supporting objectives of the digital vision of Pakistan and National Education Policy. The consultation was attended by policymakers, media professionals, academics, and civil society experts, who provided their inputs for the draft strategy on media and information literacy in Pakistan.
The Lahore consultation marked the start of a series of district level discussions across Pakistan seeking inputs from various experts through a multi-stakeholder approach.
Associate degree admission forms submission date
Punjab University (PU) Department of Examinations has issued the schedule for submission of admission forms for Associate Degree in Arts / Science / Commerce Part-1 & Part-II and BA Hearing Impaired Annual Examinations 2025.
According to details, regular, late college, private, improve division, additional subjects and special categories (MBBS, BDS, Pharm-D, General Nursing, Fazil, Wafaq-ul-Madaris) candidates are informed that admission forms will be submitted online only and no admission form will be accepted by hand or by post. The last date for receipt of online admission forms for the exams with single fee is December 31, 2024. Details are available at www.pu.edu.pk.

Punjab University (PU) has awarded PhD degrees to 12 of its scholars.According to details, Muhammad Aasim has been awarded PhD degree in the subject of Statistics, Amila Mah Zeb in the subject of Arabic, Madeeha Ansari in the subject of Botany, Syeda Sajjal Zahra in the subject of Political Science, Kumayl Hassan Jaffry in the subject of Zoology, Khizar Jawad in the subject of History, Sumaira Tufail in the subject of Commerce, Ghulam Hassan Butt in the subject of Kashmiryat, Tasadduq Mahmood in the subject of Islamic Studies, Muhammad Ahsan Ul Haq in the subject of Statistics, Ateeq Ur Rehman in the subject of Mathematics and Hafiz Ghufran in the subject of Molecular Biology.
