Chinese citizens’ security tightened
LAHORE:Lahore police have intensified safety measures to ensure the protection of Chinese citizens in the city following a recent shooting incident in Karachi.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana presided over a review meeting at the Capital City Police Headquarters on Thursday with a key emphasis on reinforcing security for Chinese nationals residing and working in the provincial capital.
During the meeting, CCPO issued strict directives to enforce security protocols (SOPs) to provide “foolproof” protection for Chinese citizens. These SOPs include increased surveillance, deployment of additional security personnel, and ensuring immediate response capabilities.
Kamyana underscored the importance of robust security arrangements, particularly around sensitive areas, as well as for large gatherings such as the upcoming Raiwind congregation. Special attention will be given to traffic management and parking facilities to prevent disruptions.
