ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has approved the appointment of new registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan for three years.
According to a notification issued here, the chief justice, in pursuant to recommendations of a committee under Sub-rule-5 of Rule-3 of the Supreme Court Establishment Service Rules, 2015, has appointed Salim Khan, a former officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, as SC registrar (BS-22), on a contract basis for a period of three years, with effect from 07.11.2024, on standard terms and conditions.
“Pay and other usual allowances as may be admissible to his class of servants under the federal government and the Supreme Court of Pakistan, from time to time, will be applicable,” said the notification issued by Irshad Hussain, assistant registrar (Admin). He will be governed by the Supreme Court Establishment Service Rules, 2015, the notification added.
It has been learnt that the services of the incumbent Registrar Jazeela Aslam have been entrusted to the Lahore High Court. Jazeela had been appointed as registrar during the tenure of former CJP Qazi Faez Isa.
