Punjab shuts schools in smog-hit districts
The decision will take effect from November 7 and is set to continue until November 17
LAHORE: The Punjab Environment Protection Agency has issued a notification announcing the closure of educational institutions across multiple districts in response to the ongoing smog crisis.
According to the notification, all public and private schools up to 12th grade and A-Levels will remain closed. During this period, educational institutions are instructed to shift to online classes. The closure applies to schools in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib, as well as Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot and Narowal.
It will also impact institutions in Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari and Khanewal. The decision will take effect from November 7 and is set to continue until November 17.
