Five people, including two injured security guards, were taken into custody on Wednesday over a shootout that erupted between the occupants of two vehicles on Sharea Faisal, reportedly over a love triangle.

Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media. The incident began with an altercation at a private club. A young woman was travelling with her new companion, while her former boyfriend followed, keeping an eye on her. Reportedly, the ex-boyfriend, from a powerful background, tried to stop her by firing shots at her vehicle.

Security guards from the woman’s luxury car fired back, leading to an exchange of gunfire as the vehicles raced down Sharae Faisal towards Star Gate. Following the incident, the woman exited her car and managed to escape.

Security forces intercepted the vehicles near the airport, confiscating weapons from both parties. Notably, one of the cars lacked a licence plate and had fully tinted windows. Initial police investigations revealed that both groups had been engaged in a dispute from the private club, which escalated into a gunfight on the road. Two security guards, identified as Fazal Rehman and Nawaz, were injured in the incident. No case has been registered.
