A case has been registered under attempted murder and terrorism charges over Tuesday’s shooting incident at a textile mill targeting foreign nationals.

The FIR No 510/24 was registered under the Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act on the complaint of the textile company’s security incharge, Najeebul Rab, at the Site A Police Station. According to the FIR, two Chinese nationals, who commuted daily from their residence in Defence Housing Authority to the Liberty Textile in a bulletproof vehicle with heavy security, arrived at 8:02 am on Tuesday, November 5, and proceeded to the knits department on the first floor to work on the installation of new machinery.

At around 8:15 am, Sharifullah, a security guard employed by the company for past four to five months, went up to the first floor and opened fire with his 9mm pistol on the Chinese nationals with the intent to kill them for reasons not known yet.

As a result, the Chinese nationals, Zheng Luwen and Wang Xingzhong, were severely injured. After the shooting, the guard fled the scene, and 16 bullet casings were seized from the crime scene. The injured Chinese nationals were rushed to Liaquat National Hospital.
