Tussle between: KP CM, Atif Khan heats up after ACE notices
CM apparently in a rejoinder through an audio, advised Atif Khan to ascertain facts before making any statement
PESHAWAR: The tussle between Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Muhammad Atif Khan has come in the open after the recent Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) notices to the latter.
The ACE had served two notices on Member National Assembly Atif Khan in as many cases. He was summoned by the anti-graft body to clear his position. Atfi Khan later in an audio message flayed the call-up notices by a provincial anti-graft body.
According to media reports, the chief minister, apparently in a rejoinder through an audio message, advised Atif Khan to ascertain facts before making any statement. “I have no time to comment on such statements as I have a lot of responsibilities to shoulder. What are you talking about? This does not sound well,” said Gandapur, who is also the PTI chief for the KP chapter.
Coming down hard on Atif Khan’s assertions, he said nobody was scared of such bullies. “You are not so important that I should put my attention on,” said the chief minister. Gandapur reminded Atif Khan that there was an inquiry and other cases pending against him. “You had dropped a message in this group four months ago and asked about the fate of the inquiries against you,” said the chief minister to the PTI leader from Mardan.
The chief minister pointed out to Atif Khan that notices had been served on him asking him merely to appear before the ACE and clear his position. “Or else the files would continue to lie there and later someone else will open them,” said the chief minister, advising Atif Khan to appear before the ACE. “This is not the story you are narrating. It is something else for which you have been summoned,” said the chief minister while reminding: “We know your worth well.”
