MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police inaugurated the first driving school for males and females here on Tuesday.
“The short and long courses spreading from two to four weeks in six major areas will enable male and female trainees for the first time to apply for licenses directly,” District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur told the inaugural ceremony here.
Superintendent of Police, Investigation, Mohammad Sheeraz, SP (traffic) Shahnawaz, and District Traffic Incharge Anas Khan were also in attendance.
The DPO said that the government, on a proposal moved by Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Gandapur, decided to establish driving training schools across the province in August this year.
“The government and police department aim to reduce fatal and other road accidents in the province, which is why, for the first time, male and female police officers will impart driving training to trainees here,” Gandapur said.
