LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana presided over a meeting to review the performance of Iqbal Town and Sadr divisions police.
During the session, CCPO issued directions concerning the prohibition of illegal detentions, emphasising that police must deal with detainees according to the law. He stressed the importance of ensuring that no innocent individuals are arrested, and that the arrests of guilty suspects should be carried out immediately. He stated that any police officers neglecting or engaging in malpractices in drug-related investigations would face departmental action.
The CCPO also highlighted the importance of adhering to bank security protocols, directing supervisory officers to regularly visit banks to check that security measures are in place and maintain continuous communication with bank staff. He issued instructions for enhancing security arrangements for the second phase of the Raiwind Ijtmah, and called for a ramped-up crackdown on motorcycle snatching and thefts. He instructed that barriers be installed in residential societies in consultation with residents to curb crime.
