LAHORE : Punjab University Institute of Polymer & Textile Engineering has signed agreements with three industrial groups to strengthen industry academic linkages, help to promote local industry and provide job opportunities for students.
In this regard, a ceremony was held in the committee room of Punjab University Vice Chancellor’s office here on Tuesday.
On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, Director Institute of Polymer and Textile Engineering Dr Shahzad Maqsood, faculty members, CEOs and representatives of a polymer industry, and others were present.
Speaking at the event, PU VC Dr Muhammad Ali said that
development of relations with industries was the top priority of the university.
He said that the agreements will help in the production of goods at the local level in collaboration with the industries while the MoUs will provide better employment opportunities to PU students.
He said that he would promote industrial parks in the university in collaboration with the relevant industries and chamber of commerce.Industry representatives said that internship and employment opportunities would be provided to the students of PU. They said that the students must do such research that results in a product.
Book Launched
The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) organised a launching ceremony of book ‘The Sufi's Nightingale’ authored by Sarbpreet Singh at Wazir Khan Baradari. Almost 100 people gathered at the venue to attend the event.
The author explained about the inspiration that motivated him for the writing of the book. He further explained that Shah Hussain's poetry is a great contribution to the mystic literature of Punjab.
