New habitats set up for houbara bustard hunting

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs with support of Department of Wildlife allotted areas to Middle Eastern dignitaries

KARACHI: New habitats have been established for the hunting of the migratory bird houbara bustard in the deserts and lush green areas of Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab.

The habitats have all the comforts of life. The local people will supply goats, sheep, fruits, vegetables and other goods to the visitors from the Middle Eastern states during the days of hunting. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the Department of Wildlife, allotted the areas of Jhang, district Khushab, district Bhakkar, tehsil Diplo Islamkot, Tharparkar, Punjab, to Middle Eastern dignitaries.

Similarly, Bhakkar, Khushab districts, Dahli Tehsil, Chakwal district, Dera Murad Jamali, Naseerabad districts of Balochistan, Qila Saifullah, Qamrudin and Kakar Khorasan of Balochistan, Turbat and Ketch districts of Balochistan, Jhal Magsi of Balochistan, Bahawalpur region of Punjab, Chakwal, Naseerabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Jhal Magsi, Bhawalpur, Noshki, Chaghi, Tharparkar, Rahim Yar Khan, Liaquatpur, Khanpur, Rajanpur, tehsil Rojhan, Muzaffargarh, Fort Abbas, Bahawalnagar, Muzaffargarh and Fort Abbas, Sanni Sawan, Sabi, Khairpurnathan Shah, Tehsil Johi, Dadu, Larkana, Shahdadkot, Nara, Khairpur, Jamshoro, Tindobula Khan, Kotri, Sehwan, Sajawal, Shah Bandar, Jacobabad, Jafarabad and Naushahro Feroz have also been allotted to Arab dignitaries for hunting. Permits have been issued to all these guests while the hunting fee is fixed at $100,000.
