Ukraine hands woman 15-year jail term for aiding Russia

KYIV, Ukraine: Kyiv said on Monday it had sentenced a woman from the eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk to serve 15 years behind bars on high treason charges for aiding invading Russian forces.
Ukraine has opened thousands of cases into aiding and abetting the Kremlin´s war effort since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. The office of the prosecutor general said that between March and April this year the woman passed information about Ukrainian troop deployments to an acquaintance who was serving in the Russian army.
