The District Keamari police on Monday announced the resolution of a murder case involving a woman whose body was discovered in a trunk at the Metroville graveyard on October 21.

The victim, identified as Shazia, a mother of five and employee at SS Garments in Godhra, was found with her mouth taped. This information was revealed during a joint press conference by SSP Keamari Faizan Ali and SP Investigation Azhar Javed. Investigators have identified a distant relative of Shazia's husband as the primary suspect, who has since been arrested.

The suspect, a resident of Liaquatabad No 8, was found to have strangled Shazia before binding her body with tape and disposing of it. Shazia had left home for work when she was murdered. The press conference highlighted that the suspect, despite being married, was close to the victim’s family and frequently attended family gatherings.

Both Shazia and the suspect hailed from Tando Adam. Their relationship reportedly began after the suspect gifted Shazia a mobile phone. According to him, Shazia had been persistently asking for money, which he found bothersome. He purchased a trunk for Rs4,000 from Liaquatabad No 10 and rented a Suzuki vehicle for Rs1,800 to transport the body. Following the murder, the suspect even pretended to search for Shazia alongside her husband. The investigation is ongoing to determine if any accomplices are involved in the crime.
