PESHAWAR: Preparations have been completed for the three-day Horse and Cattle Show, which will begin on November 8 at Karnal Sher Khan Stadium.
According to a communication, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will inaugurate the event, featuring free entry for the public and a vibrant lineup of traditional sports, cultural performances, and family activities.
The organisers said the show, which will be held from November 8 to 10, promises an array of attractions, including horse and pigeon races, kabaddi, wrestling, camel and dog races, and camel dances.
Over 1,000 horses are expected to compete, while traditional music, art exhibitions, poetry recitals, vintage car displays, and a family festival will further highlight the region’s rich heritage. The opening ceremony will feature traditional music, air gliding, and dance performances.
To ensure seamless execution, a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Sports Syed Fakhar Jehan and Commissioner Riaz Mahsud was held at the Commissioner’s Office. It brought together officials from the sports, security, traffic, and sanitation departments.
Police and traffic management plans were finalized, and Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar was directed to oversee cleanliness during the event. The commissioner emphasized the festival’s significance for Peshawar, a city affected by terrorism, and called for mobilizing resources to maximize public engagement and festival success. He instructed officials to provide daily updates on progress, underscoring the importance of safety, coordination, and community involvement throughout the event.
