373 properties sealed in LDA operation

LAHORE:Continuing its campaign against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulting properties, LDA teams sealed 373 properties here on Monday.

The operation was conducted on the instructions of DG Tahir Farooq and supervised by Chief Town Planner I Asad Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali while enforcement squad and police participated in the operation. LDA teams conducted operations in Gulbarg, Garden Town, Wahdat Road, Johar Town, Wapda Town, Quaid-e-Azam Town, Canal Road, Poonch Road, Samanabad and surrounding localities. The properties that were sealed included schools, labs, clinics, cash and carry stores, call centres, rent a car, colleges, marquees, wedding halls, pharmacies, offices, beauty parlors, real estate offices, dental clinics, studios, chicken shop and others. Several notices were given to these properties before the operation. These properties were sealed for illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercial fees.

Meanwhile, DG Tahir Farooq visited the area of Sabzazar Scheme connected to Babu Sabu and Ring Road and reviewed the operation of removing encroachments from the properties owned by LDA and Wasa from the areas connected to the Sabzazar scheme.

More than 100 kanals of LDA owned properties have been cleared at Sabzazar K, E, F, J and L blocks. Fencing and boards installation at the sites were done. DG Tahir Farooq directed that the encroachments from the property owned by LDA and Wasa around the drain near Babu Sabu should be completely removed.
