The Anti-Theft Cell of the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) in collaboration with the Sindh Rangers took action on Sunday against water theft, demolishing 11 illegal hydrants, and seizing 15 water tankers and nine tractor trolleys.
The joint operation against water theft was conducted in the areas of Manghopir, Chakra Goth, Korangi, Hub Canal and Altaf Nagar near the Northern Bypass.
According to officials, the water tankers and tractor trolleys seized during the operation were illegally extracting water from the Hub Canal and selling it at high prices in various parts of the city.
Officials also stated that in Chakra Goth, Korangi, lines connected with the demolished illegal hydrants, specifically lines 48 and 33, were fully disconnected to prevent further water theft.
