PARACHINAR: A cop sustained injuries in a fresh attack in the Maqbal area of volatile Kurram tribal district on Sunday.
Sources said that police personnel had been deputed between the border areas of Kunj Alizai and Maqbal in Kurram, who were attacked by miscreants withgunfire.
As a result, a cop named Nawab Ali sustained multiple bullet injuries.
Meanwhile, miscreants attacked Kunj Alizai area with heavy and automatic weapons, but the attackers fled after a volley of firing. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Also, the main road in Kurram has been closed to traffic for the 23rd consecutive day on Sunday, creating great hardships for the residents.
According to the district administration, 216 vehicles carrying passengers, fuel and goods had been transported to Parachinar.

Also, various organisations have staged a sit-in protest at RP Chowk in Parachinar against the road closure. The participant said that the sit-in protest would continue until the main road was reopened.
