‘PPP to provide justice to the masses’

HAFIZABAD: PPP Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo has said that the party is determined to provide justice to the masses by eliminating corruption in the country.
He was addressing a workers’ convention at the dera of PPP former district president Malik Shaukat Hayat Awan here on Wednesday. He said that reorganisation of the PPP was under way while the party leaders had started a mass contact campaign in the country. He said that the PPP was the party of workers, peasants and poor.
The PPP leaders, including Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, former MNA Malik Wazir Ahmad Awan and former district general secretary Muhammad Arshad Mehind, also spoke on the occasion.
GANG BUSTED: Vanike Tarar police have busted a gang of cattle-lifters and arrested its ringleader and four members.
Those arrested are Ansar, Shabbir, Pomi Tarar, Muhammad Nawaz and Saifullah. According to police, the Ansar gang was operating in the river belt area and had lifted scores of cattle from the area. Police have recovered over a dozen of cattle heads worth million of rupees from the gang.
