‘Power abuse’ by FWMC acting MD

From Our Correspondent

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC) General Manager Operations Amad Gill, who is on three-month probation, has started sacking officials without taking the Board of Directors (BoD) into confidence after being given additional charge of the managing director, The News learnt here.

Sources said that Amad Gill had been given additional charge of the post by the FWMC chairman. They claimed that the acting MD had sacked FWMC Secretary Aurangzeb Shami, Transport Manager Zafar Dogar, staff workshop purchaser Irfan Wazir, driver Malik Zahid and photographer Ali Imran without approval of the BoD during the last some days.

When contacted, FWMC Board of Directors member MPA Faqir Hussain said that Amad Gill was not competent to recruit or sack the staff because his services had not been confirmed even as the GM Operations.
