ISLAMABAD: The final and official results of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) annual elections for the year 2024-25 were released on Friday.
According to the results, signed by Returning Officer and Chairman of the Election Board Zafar Mahmood Mughal Advocate, Mian Muhammad Rauf Atta was elected President of the association with 1,637 votes, while Salman Mansoor, candidate for the Secretary position, got 1,785 votes.
For the Vice President seats, Muhammad Ishaq Notizai secured 1,499 votes for Balochistan, Muhammad Habib Qureshi 1,495 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Rana Ghulam Sarwar 1,654 for Punjab. The Vice President seat for Sindh remains pending in the Islamabad High Court.
Additionally, Muhammad Aurangzeb Khan won the position of Additional Secretary with 1,628 votes, and Chaudhry Tanveer Akhtar was elected Finance Secretary with 1,599 votes. For the Executive Committee, Malik Munir Ahmed from Balochistan received 1,724 votes, while Rehmatullah Khan Sadiqzai received 1,365. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ayesha Malik garnered 1,698 votes, and Sarwar Khan 1,571. Abdul Rehman Khan Lakhani received 1,607 votes from the Multan, Bahawalpur, and Punjab regions. Additionally, Najma Rashid secured 1,684 votes, Hamudur Rehman Awan 1,498, Rizwana Jabeen Siddiqui from Sindh 1,709, and Ahmed Ali Dewan 1,585.
