The NED Women Conference 2024 is set to take place on November 6-7, uniting accomplished women from diverse fields to share their insights, experiences, and visions for the future. The event aims to empower women, foster leadership, and cultivate meaningful connections among participants.
Hosted at the main campus of NED University of Engineering & Technology, the two-day conference will feature an inspiring lineup of keynote speakers, engaging panel discussions, and interactive workshops. The opening day will begin with a welcome address from Prof. Dr. Sajida Zaki, Conference Chair and Chairperson of the English Linguistics and Allied Studies Department at NEDUET, followed by a keynote address from Javed Jabbar, former Senator and Federal Minister. Prof Dr Muhammad Tufail, Pro Vice Chancellor of NEDUET, will provide key remarks, followed by a special address from Chief Guest Nilofur Farrukh, a distinguished historian, critic, and author.
“The theme of our conference—Innovation, Enlightenment, and Pathways for Engendering Sustainable Development—highlights three essential pillars for progress. Innovation drives new solutions and technologies that can uplift communities. Enlightenment ensures that education and awareness foster an inclusive society where every individual’s potential is recognized and nurtured. Pathways for engendering sustainable development involve creating opportunities and removing barriers, ensuring women can contribute equally and effectively to all sectors of society”, said Vice-chancellor Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi. Conference Chair Dr. Sajida Zaki added that the event will provide a platform for women to share their stories and inspire one another. This is not just about discussing challenges; it is about celebrating achievements and building a supportive community for women.
The conference will culminate in the much-anticipated Ghazal Night on November 7, a celebration of art and culture that will showcase the talents of women in the performing arts. The NED Women Conference 2024 is expected to attract participants and attendees from various sectors such as media, business, medicine, education, and sports, creating a unique opportunity for networking and collaboration.
