LAHORE: In a surprising development, Lahore Qalandars have appointed former England fast bowler Darren Gough as their Head Coach.
Gough, known for his impressive career with England and leadership roles, will lead the Qalandars in the inaugural Global Super League (GSL), set to kick off on November 26 in Guyana.
The 54-year-old Gough is celebrated for his vast cricketing experience, both on the field and in executive positions. He representing England from 1994 to 2006 and retired as England’s leading wicket-taker in ODIs.
After his playing days, Gough transitioned to media as a cricket commentator and pundit before moving into administration. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Cricket for Yorkshire and was previously a bowling consultant for England in 2020.
