Pakistan Post abolishes 1,511 more posts
A total of 3,616 posts have been eliminated from Pakistan Post, says a circular
ISLAMABAD: Under the rightsizing policy of the federal government, 1,511 more posts of Grade 1 to 15 have been abolished in the Pakistan Post.
According to a circular issued by the headquarters of the institution, 2,000 posts have already been abolished and 105 posts have been declared as dying. So far, a total of 3,616 posts have been eliminated from the institution.
Sources said that all the abolished posts were vacant, the largest number of abolished posts were 500 posts of postmen (scale 7), 458 posts of mail peons/porters (scale 2), 274 posts of postal clerks (scale 9) and eight posts of SPO in scale 14.
The Director General of Pakistan Post Office has sent the report with regard to the implementation of the decision of federal cabinet on August 27 to the Ministry of Communications. The secretary, Ministry of Communications, will give final approval to the termination of posts as principal accounting officer.
