Asjad, Asif, Ahsan shine at World Snooker Championship
LAHORE: Asjad Iqbal, Muhammad Asif and Ahsan Ramzan have advanced to the last-16 round of the IBSF World Snooker Championship 2024.
In the round of 32, three Pakistani players exhibited their skills with dominating performances.
Ahsan Ramzan delivered a stunning display against Swedish player Shivan Mohammedali, securing a comprehensive 4-0 victory. Ramzan’s performance included high breaks, notably a century break of 105, showcasing his scoring prowess and tactical acumen.
Asjad Iqbal also achieved a clean sweep, defeating Turkey’s Melih Egemen with a score of 4-0. Iqbal’s consistent scoring throughout the match highlighted his ability to control the game and maintain pressure on his opponent.
Muhammad Asif triumphed over Finland’s Jason Sormunen, winning 4-1. Asif’s match included an impressive 94-point break in the final frame.
The first match of the round of 16 will be an all-Pakistani affair, between Asjad and Asif while Ahsan will face Thaha Irshath from Sri Lanka.
The round of 64 also showcased the players’ exceptional skills. Ahsan continued his strong performance by defeating Sami Al Hamrashdi from Oman with a score of 4-1.
