Global citizenship workshop
LAHORE : The Youth4GCED Regional Workshop launched in Lahore on Thursday, bringing together over 25 young leaders from South Asia to explore Global Citizenship Education (GCED), cultural exchange, and youth-driven social justice initiatives. Co-organised by The Little Art, UNESCO APCEIU, and the GCED Youth Network, this event aims to foster critical thinking, social responsibility, and collaborative problem-solving.
Day one featured impactful sessions on storytelling and education’s role in social change. Dr. Tania Saeed from LUMS highlighted storytelling as a bridge for South Asian communities, while Zafar Hayat Malik of UNESCO Pakistan shared the organisation’s commitment to youth empowerment. Rafi Jaffer, an international youth development expert, led an interactive exercise underscoring GCED’s importance in addressing regional challenges.
Young leaders participated in vibrant discussions and activities, setting the foundation for a Youth Declaration that reflects their vision for a more inclusive, sustainable South Asia.
