A motorcyclist lost his life on Wednesday in a tragic accident near Karachi's Shershah Bridge when a container fell on the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured and rushed to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The deceased person was later identified as Abdul Karim, son of Ghulam Haider. Following the accident, police and rescue workers reached the scene. Police said the fall of the container completely destroyed the motorcycle, and another vehicle was also affected.

This was the third accident in recent days in which a heavy vehicle caused a motorcyclist’s death. During the night hours between Monday and Tuesday, an accident occurred on Shahrah-e-Pakistan where a truck carrying a container ran a motorcyclist over, killing a young man instantly and severely injuring another. Additionally, on Monday, a dumper truck hit a motorcyclist in the North Karachi area leading to his death.

In both the previous accidents on Shahrah-e-Pakistan and North Karachi, enraged locals at the scene set the trucks on fire in response.

Separately on Wednesday, two children were injured in a traffic accident in Malir’s Memon Goth.

The injured children were identified as 14-year-old Musa and 13-year-old Abdul Jabbar. They were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

The accident occurred when a truck's tyre burst, causing it to collide with a motorcycle on which the children were travelling, said the police. Further investigations are under way.
