Five security guards killed in Panjgur attack

Bodies of deceased workers was transferred to hospital in Panjgur

QUETTA: Unidentified armed motorcyclists attacked private security personnel assigned to construction work on a dam and road in Tehsil Paroom of Panjgur district, killing five guards and leaving two injured.

The attack occurred at the dam and road construction site in Tehsil Paroom, where armed motorcyclists opened fire on the private security team. Five members of the security team lost their lives, while two others were injured. The deceased include Zahir Ali, son of Muhammad Ali, Hussain Ali, son of Muhammad Hayat, and Abdul Ghafoor, son of Inamullah. They all hailed from Panjgur. Aminullah belonged to KPK and Nawaz Ali hailed from Sindh. The bodies were shifted to the Panjgur Teaching Hospital.

The district administration in Panjgur has launched a detailed investigation into the incident. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the heinous attack on the personnel and prayed for departed souls. He instructed to provide the best medical care to two injured. He also instructed to identify the culprits involved in the attack and bring them to justice.

The prime minister said the attackers are enemies of the development of Pakistan and Balochistan and that such evil elements have no place in the country. These evil elements cannot shake the determination of the government for the development of Balochistan with their cowardly actions, Shehbaz Sharif concluded.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has strongly condemned the killing of five workers and injuries to two others in a terrorist attack at a dam site in the Paroom area of Panjgur district. Sarfraz Bugti said that terrorists are followers of anti-national elements bent on sabotaging the development and peace of the country. The chief minister termed the incident a “condemnable and unforgivable act” and pledged that the perpetrators would face justice. “The enemy is irked by the peace and development of Balochistan,” the CM said.

He said that terrorists would never succeed in theirnefarious designs and they would be dealt with iron hands. CM Bugti said cowards had targeted innocent people in the dark of the night. “Terrorists will not be spared, unjust bloodshed must be accounted for,” the CM said.

The CM expressed his condolences to the families of deceased and expressed good wishes for the speedy recovery of injured. The Balochistan Liberation Army accepts responsibility for the attack in a statement to journalists, according to Reuetrs.
