House looted in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: A group of half a dozen armed robbers barged into a house at Jahangira area and took away cash and other valuables after taking hostage the owner of the house, his wife and children at gunpoint.

The robbers remained present at the house for one hour and shot and injured the owner of the house after offering resistance to them. The robbers took away Rs0.7 million in cash, two cellphones, gold jewelry and other valuables.

The Akora Khattak Police lodged a case on the complaint of injured homeowner Mohammad Kamal, who was later taken to the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex.

According to Kamal, he, his wife, their 13-year-old daughter, and three sons were asleep in their home when five masked men broke into their bedroom around 2am. The men falsely claimed to be intelligence officers searching for illegal weapons and explosives. He said that the robbers left after an hour and took away the cash, jewelry and other valuables.
