PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf central leader and Member National Assembly Sheikh Waqas Akram on Tuesday moved the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to seek transit bail and obtain details of cases registered against him.
He filed two separate petitions through lawyer Alam Khan Adinzai where federal and Punjab governments and Islamabad administration have been made as respondents.
In his application for transit bail, Sheikh Waqas Akram submitted that four cases had been registered against him in Faisalabad and other areas of Punjab.
He said that he wished to appear before the courts, but feared arrest, thus seeking transit bail to present himself in the relevant courts.
In his second petition, filed to obtain details of the cases.
He said that as an MNA and a senior leader of his party, several cases had been registered against him in various districts of Punjab.
The petitioner said he was aware of four cases but did not have information about others.
He prayed the court to
direct all concerned parties to provide the details of cases registered against him and grant him protective bail during this period to appear in court.
