LAHORE : Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab on Tuesday notified Vice Chancellors (VCs) of six public sector universities, including the VC of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU).
As per the notifications issued by the HED Punjab, Prof Dr Uzma Qureshi has been appointed as the VC of Lahore College for Women University, Prof Dr Bushra Mirza as Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) Rawalpindi, Prof Dr Kanwal Amin as VC of Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), Prof Dr Shazia Bashir as VC of Government College Women University Sialkot (GCWUS), Prof Dr Shazia Anjum as VC of Government Sadiq College Women University (GSCWU) Bahawalpur while Prof Dr Rauf Azam has been appointed as the VC of Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF). Earlier on September 23, HED Punjab had notified VCs of seven public sector universities of the province.
Nine bodies to monitor schools at divisional level
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Tuesday constituted nine committees at divisional level to monitor schools and improve educational affairs.
The committees will consist of Secretary Education, Additional Secretaries, Special Secretaries and members of the Advisory Committee and they will visit public schools across the province every month to assess teaching and other issues. They will also play a role in restoring facilities in schools.
The minister has directed the committees to visit at least 4 schools every month in their respective districts.
