LAHORE: With Pakistan’s white-ball squad set to embark on challenging tours of Australia and Zimbabwe, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi extended his best wishes to the newly-appointed captain Mohammad Rizwan and vice-captain Salman Ali Agha.
At a meeting held in Lahore, Naqvi expressed confidence in the leadership of the two, emphasising their role in fostering unity, resilience and national pride within the squad as they prepare for ODI and T20I series.
“We believe Rizwan’s resilience and Agha’s steady approach can steer the team to success in these upcoming assignments. These players represent Pakistan’s finest talent, and we are optimistic they will display the character and excellence that has always defined Pakistani cricket.”
Naqvi further highlighted the importance of teamwork and a fighting spirit, especially given the formidable opposition in Australia, where Pakistan will face a seasoned Australian side in both ODIs and T20Is from November 4-18.
Rizwan, who has been a steadfast performer for Pakistan since his debut in white-ball cricket, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, and vowed to meet the nation’s expectations.
“We are focused and ready for the challenges ahead. Australia is a tough competitor, but our aim is to bring our best and represent Pakistan with pride and determination,” Rizwan remarked.
