Steering committee prepares for IDEAS 2024

KARACHI: In the third Steering Committee Meeting held at the Chief Minister Sindh Secretariat on Tuesday, Syed Murad Ali Shah, chief minister of Sindh, said that “the 12th edition of IDEAS, scheduled from November 19-22, 2024, at Karachi Expo Centre (KEC), will play a pivotal role in enhancing Pakistan’s strategic relations with the international community, contributing to global peace, stability and balance.”

A press release quoted the chief minister as saying that hosting IDEAS reflects Pakistan’s commitment to fostering technological development and exchange in the region. Concluding the first session, he assured the Sindh government’s ongoing support and full commitment to the success of IDEAS 2024.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from federal ministries, Sindh government departments, Pakistan’s armed forces, law enforcement agencies (LEAs), and event manager Badar Expo Solutions.

To further accelerate national preparations for this strategically significant event, the second session was chaired by Director General of DEPO Major General Asad Nawaz Khan.He was briefed on the finalisation of administrative, security and logistical plans by various government departments, the armed forces, and LEAs.

Concluding the second session, DG DEPO highlighted that, as per tradition, IDEAS 2024 will feature cutting-edge defence technology demonstrations, international seminars, cultural exhibitions and opportunities for business growth through well-coordinated B2B and B2G engagements.

He added that the Karachi Show, a special event for the residents of Karachi, will be held at Sea View (Nishan-e-Pakistan) on November 21, 2024.

At the end of the meeting, the event manager emphasised that with the support of the armed forces, federal and provincial governments, and law enforcement agencies, IDEAS 2024 is set to be held with great success.

During the meeting, all government organisations and departments pledged their full support for the successful execution of IDEAS 2024.
