ISLAMABAD. Special Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana adjourned the hearing of the reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the £190 million financial scandal till October 30 without taking any action.
The court has adjourned this hearing due to the non-attendance of Bushra Bibi and her lawyer. Imran Khan was present in the courtroom on the occasion of the hearing in Adiala Jail, however, due to Bushra Bibi’s ill health, he requested an exemption from attendance. The court accepted the request for exemption from attendance, while Usman Riaz Gul, the lawyer of Bushra Bibi, did not appear in the court.
The NAB prosecutor argued that Bushra Bibi was not present in the hearing and her counsel was also unavailable. This is a deliberate attempt to prolong the case and due to the absence of Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, the investigating officer of the case could not be cross-examined.
